Contraindications to the use of sympathectomy
are marked atrophy of the extremity with loss of
subcutaneous tissues and consequent diminution in
the available vascular bed, constant intractable pain
uninfluenced by sympathetic block, the rapid onset
of symptoms and a rapidly progressive vascular lesion.
